This gorgeous Moroccan pillow was handmade by an artisan using a mid-century Beni M’Guild hand woven rug and a flat weave, vintage Kilim rug. It is a two sided pillow – plush wool on one side and flat wool on the opposite with a zipper closure.

Please note this is created with a vintage Moroccan rug that had a long, storied life before becoming this beautiful pillow. Expect the stitching to be irregular and signs of wear and fading. The beauty of this piece comes from its imperfections.

Description

Our “Poppy” plush vintage Moroccan pillow is one-of-a-kind. Hand made by an artisan using a mid-century Beni M’Guild rug and a Kilim rug.

Weaving rugs is one of the oldest Moroccan traditions and it is truly an art form. Each rug tells a unique story told by the weaver using specific symbols or colors. The techniques and symbols used by the weaver were passed down generation to generation. While the rugs were used to protect the body from the elements they were also meant to protect the spirit from negative energy.

CARE

Spot clean minor dirt or stains. If a deeper cleaning is required, have the pillow professionally hand washed. Do not use bleach, steam or dry-clean.
